Okay, here's a bigger update

While the Rona has eased a little over here, and here's me genuinely hoping that all of you and your loved ones are safe and sound, the wrap up of the hardest releases in Resonic history, the 0.9.4 update, continues and is almost where it belongs.

You can find a complete list of the highlights and all the little details that are definitely in it at https://stuff.liqube.com/diff

There have been 15 unstable builds only in the last few months on the way to this release. All of these were and currently still are publicly available for testing, and lots of your suggestions as well as fixes for your bug reports have also made it into the code base.

The plan now is to complete 0.9.4 and finally enter the shorter release cycle that we've decided on after a public vote here. This should've happened last autumn, in a perfect world that is.

With 0.9.4 we'll also leave the long-term beta phase, which existed for way too long, and enter a healthy beta/stable release cycle.

The beta label will only be used for actual beta builds that will be available before the stable builds are released. These betas will not interfere with your stable production versions, so you won't have to worry about accidentally messing up your installed version by trying a beta.

Unstable builds will continue to exist for the internal beta circle only and will remain a means to implement ideas and test stuff, or deliver new things to the testers asap in order to then brainstorm about possible improvements.

0.9.5 is scheduled to be a small feature release, that packs a punch. There are things that have been completed for 0.9.4, but are just overkill for a 0.9.4 release and need additional testing. We'll be pushing to get this released six to eight weeks after the 0.9.4 release.

With 0.9.6 we'll very likely end Early Access. So if you're interested in an EA license, which is a cheaper and includes a free update extension as thank you, you can still grab one.

A user interface is like a joke: if you have to explain it, it's not that good.
