Resonic locks file current file-cannot edit file externally

Hi,
I work as a game sound designer and I constantly preview sounds with ie Resonic and then edit them using various wave editors, like RX - which is my favorite.
RX is of course a bit to heavy, and Resonic is perfect for it's purpose.
However, as Resonic locks the current file it has loaded(is playing) I cannot edit the respective audio file in a different program, so I have to either open an arbitrary file with Resonic in the mean time, or the quit Resonic player in order to free the file I want to edit.
Is there a solution to this? Can Resonic just cache a file for playing, rather than locking it?
Cheers
