Winamp closing down soon
Posted: November 20th, 2013, 23:39
Sad news about the player we love to hate.
Winamp and its site winamp.com will be closing down on December 20.
What will this mean to the other players out there? foobar2000 and even Resonic may benefit from this.
As always, it's sad when someone/something goes away.
Even though it evolved to something you wouldn't hope for today, it was still the pioneer in the MP3 player division.
And many other followed after it.
Thanks to Winamp3 being what it was, one man, that helped creating it, made a player on his own as he didn't liked what Winamp3 turned out to be, he named it foobar2000.
Many years later, Tom created Resonic, which has very big potential to become a great player, and even more so, now.
Hope for all the best!
This is semi related to Resonic, couldn't find any other section to post it in.
