Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
One thing I do love with soundforge editing is zooming in and out of waveform with mouse wheel. Audition is a great editor that i use a fair bit for processing, effects and clean up but soundforge is my most used and prefered when just doing a lot of detailed sample chopping and fade in fade outs to stop clicking.
I also like its ability to set its sample rate to any number i choose if i want to do quick time and pitch shifting.
If the pro version used a similar zoom with mouse wheel and audio extraction, i'd likely not need to use soundforge.

Haven't used too many of those, but I do like Adobe Soundbooth (latest version was in CS5, was replace by Audition) and Audacity.x
I don't suffer from insanity... I'm still insane though.

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
Nice question....
Maybe sounds a little strange, but i always edit my samples etc in my DAW (bitwig)
And then i resample a lot...
So thats the reason i use Image line Edison. (because of drag and drop feature also)
Put it on a track hit rec and go.. when finished cut normalize etc and drop it in my DAW.
Edit: it,s a VST and a standalone product.

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
I would also add Edison - cool since it also exists as VST so you can directly record, edit and then play back in sync.
I also find Ocenaudio quite interesting, especially GUIwise - and it handles multichannel audio.
But my main editor is Audition 3 (I also have 5.5 but that's a major failure IMO) - I use it since I bought Cool Edit on a floppy via Compuserve in the pre-Internet times, then Cool Edit Pro and finally Audition...
Recently I started using Audacity much more, since it handles Surround/Multichannel, FLAC and AC3 much much better than any of my other tools. While it feels a bit clumsy, it's quite capable.
DAW-wise Bitwig is my main software together with Usine Hollyhock 2.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
Besides, does anyone of you own a mobile recorder (e.g. Olympus LS-5/10, etc. or any other brand, except Zoom) with the ability to set index markers during recording?
@ThomasHelzle: Hollyhock looks heaps powerful.

@Tom: Yeah, Usine is amazing
I have a Sony PCM-M10 - do you need samples with markers to test?

I use REAPER for all audio work.
Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
I started with cool edit years ago, went to Audition when Adobe bought it, flirted with Audacity and REAPER Vers 4 and have returned to Audition

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
Previously I had been using Soundforge as a file-based editor from about 1996 till I started having major problems with v11 around 2009/10. I found Twistedwave (OSX only) and I was so happy with this editor I dropped Soundforge all together. Twistedwave is incredibly stable and has excellent core features like plugin chains and batch audio processing. I stopped doing any file based editing in Windows after that.

Pro Tools (of course..)
But I’ve been flirting with Steinberg Wavelab & Twisted Wave.

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
Acon Acoustica7, and sometimes Ocen AUdio (the latter one is portable).

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
Funny, one of the reasons I bought Resonic Pro is because it allows to select and "slice" a piece of a sample, then drag and drop that selection directly into my DAW (Ableton).
I tried several of the listed tools on the poll, and none could do that simple action.
I actually use Resonic as the selected "external editor" in Live.
Beyond slicing I can also easily browse the other samples of that sample's folder.

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
I mostly use Izotope RX for editing and sometimes Image-line edison, depending on what is most convenient at the time or the job.

Hi Tom,
It would be ideal if Resonic Pro allowed the user to specify an .exe file to launch when an audio file is double-clicked (or whatever). Or, perhaps a right-click presents a drop-down list of multiple user-specified applications. Other sample management applications I've used work this way, though I'll confess I experienced some debilitating sound card sharing issues that stumped the developer throughout my evaluation period. The only way to edit in Wavelab, for example, was to close the calling app, which made things tedious, to say the least.
I'll be happy to test this for you, when it comes time, if it will help.

First off, the soundcard sharing issues will be fixed in 0.9.3 due by the end of this month, with additional options incoming as well.david wrote: ↑February 18th, 2019, 19:31It would be ideal if Resonic Pro allowed the user to specify an .exe file to launch when an audio file is double-clicked (or whatever). About the other thing, guess what is planned for 0.9.4 Here's a WIP screenshot:
Hop on Slack and PM me, I'll post an early build there as soon as it becomes available for testing!

Re: What's your preferred audio editing applications?
Image Line Edison for the 'other'
EDIT:
Have to add
For launching as an external app from within
It doesn't work w/my current audio librarian.
The 'stand-alone app' is actually a vst inside a hosting app. The command line (viewable in the properties of the shortcut) shows the 'compound' nature.

I have been trading cryptocurrency for a long time and was looking for a reliable exchanger for my operations. When I came across the https://merehead.com/blog/white-label-c ... ading-bot/ blog, I immediately felt that this is what I needed. Their platform offers a wide range of information on cryptocurrencies for exchange, which is very convenient. Moreover, the speed of their orders is simply amazing - I have never encountered any delays or problems. Their support team also deserves praise - they always solve any issues promptly and professionally.Mskdcs wrote: ↑September 19th, 2024, 08:25For businesses that value privacy, an anonymous crypto wallet is an ideal choice.
