Read the included instructions.txt and changelog.txt.

This is the release candidate (RC) and the last pre before the public release.

This build is older than the public Alpha 840.

Final column system fixes and some smaller additions like the sidebar toggle in the lower left corner.

Main focus of this build is improved performance, the new column system, the notification bar at the bottom of the window that replaces popup messages, much improved meta data display performance.

Public release and KVR news are scheduled for this Wednesday.

No issues so far as I can tell.

Sidebar toggle is good.

On Windows XP SP3 there's a blue bar that wasn't there before.
Running without themes on my work computer.
Attached screenshot (doesn't seem to upload, will try later).

Image file type mismatch: expected extension bmp but extension png given.
The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 256 KiB.

Y U NO PNG? :D
Then: The extension bmp is not allowed.

ah, good. will fix that.

bmp is not allowed, png is. increased the upload limit to 1.5 meg.

the phpbb defaults are useless ;)

Nice, you fixed the grey background on the logo as well? :)

Also, what are the buttons to the right of the menu?

well, it's white now. no idea how xp is handling this in classic mode... very weird tbh

previous/next folder, same as ctrl-up/down. just an idea though, not in the public one.[/quote]

I like that idea, would love to see it in a later release...

Works good on me. Just a few suggestions:

- would be nice if we could disable the filename column entirely (for those using it as a music player only)
- downmix to mono option for the wave display
- solid color wave

- I also made a rearrangement of the buttons to meet my usability pattern, what do you think?

i've already made all the arrangements for this to be possible. right now filename is the so-called main column, hence it can't be hidden as it is needed to align the rest. but i'll sooner or later let the user pick the main column.
- downmix to mono option for the wave display
i already have a poc (proof of concept) of this ready for various modes. the player will likely have a merge option (merge peaks visually into one channel), the pro will also have mix (properly mix down waveform into mono) and difference modes (mix down and subtract channels, excellent for checking phasing issues).
- solid color wave
also planned for the pro, see: http://resonic.at/img/labs/14

man, i really have to move the labs to the forums... much better for discussing things.
I also made a rearrangement of the buttons to meet my usability pattern, what do you think?
(just attach screenshots here, the size limit is generous)

well, i think as this is really personalized (i'm guessing you're a heavy mouse user) i'm not really qualified to like or not like it ;)

tbh, for me personally - and that's really just me - it wouldn't work as most of the time i'm using shortcuts anyways and i would want the transport controls to be left- or right-aligned. from a design point of view it might look confusing to many users, and from a coder's point of view you'll end up having a bunch of trouble with the centered section when resizing the window.

Everything is ok.
The sidebar, Once it is there, it is said that it is still essential.

One suggestion for the pro-version, is to allow the user to zoom on the wavefor, for your looping implementation and, for the long wave.
I tested a very long liveset on resonic, there is no issue, but the waveform is straight, due to the length of the set.

Really nice release, playback for me is snappier than the earlier release.
Basic cut tool is needed for trimming loops, probably on your mind already. Bookmarks or similar for individual files.

EDIT:

An idea for editing:
Some sort of range tool for finding specific area and simple enter for making it as new loop to play/save(many programs have many steps to go thru to do this)

Hi, Tom.

My experiance is very smooth with this build.
No problems at all.
I running it on Win 7 64.
But I have a one suggestions...
No doubt this player is great for audition long lists of files.
And waveform view is perfect!
But I think playlist tab will be a very useful :)
For just listening to music this will be very handy.
I'am sure someone suggested it already... but +1 vote for that))

Now that the Alpha is out, maybe have a section with all the final releases, with change log and all.

Maybe lock these when a new build is out as well.

I'll probably have to leave that to a board mod in future as I already have too many tasks on my hands :|

So if someone's willing to volunteer... ;)
