by Tom
This is the final Alpha 999, scheduled for public release, in its portable version.
Internally, this is build 7422.
As usual, see whatsnew.txt for changes. If there are no essential issues left this will go public tomorrow. This build also includes the improved multi-select "Show in Explorer" code.
Edit: Final will include fixes for all issues discussed here!

Just a minor note: For true portable,
StorageMethod=single in
resonicboot.ini
Will try the program later.

Depends on the workflow. If a user prefers individual setups per user and computer (e.g. screen sizes) "single" does" not make much sense. If a user prefers one distinct setup, no matter where Resonic is started, "single" is the only way to go.
Maybe change the default for the beta, will see...

Noticed this before but totally forgot to write it down. Will try to fix this before release.
Error: Cannot navigate to folder as it no longer exists
Related to which function / situation?

It is for the same issue, when trying to browse it by clicking on the filename in the header.

I don't know if you are aware of that "Show folder in Explorer" (File List) always opens the folder in which the currently playing file is located and not the folder one is browsing. Because you already fixed "Show in Explorer" for inactive files, chances are that this is a redundant consideration..
Except that, everything works fine / I didn't notice anything else!
Thumbs up! (and thanks..!)

You are right, this makes much more sense and will be required for playlists anyways (where every other file in the list could be located in a different folder). I'll get on it right now.

Yw + good to hear! Please report anything you may find, no matter how small the issue might seem.
@Andreasvb: MOD not restarting issue fixed

Working well here! One suggestion- when hiding the waveform visualization, would it be possible to show a progress bar of some sort to show how much of the file has played, and to allow for skipping thru the track?
I could see that as useful.

Hi
Sorry for the lack of reply these last weeks...
At first sight, the latest beta seems to work fine on Win7 64bit here. It loads quickly

Ok, so I just got a second crash of this build... I originally thought it might have just been a random glitch with my system, but having it happen a second time starts putting holes in that. Unfortunately I was a dunce, and forgot the error code it gave. I will provide the code if it crashes again.

Okay. Try then to retrace your steps before the crash happened.

Yup, will do if it crashes again. Near as I can tell it happened after a game crashed, and I was switching tracks both times...

I had Resonic stopped being able to play.
First, i play a file with Resonic.
Then, Resonic is still open, i open a DAW (Reaper), i use it, everything is ok.
Then, i switch back to REsonic (Reaper is still active) : the playback can't be started. Ok, it's Asio, some devices can not accept two hosts at the same time, i get it. But i have no error message, no pop up warning, and in Resonic i can't change my device so i'm stuck.
If i close Reaper, and try to play a file again in REsonic, playback is still not happening. I need to close both Reaper AND REsonic, then re-start it to be able to play a file again.

Do you use a proper ASIO driver, or a wrapper like ASIO4ALL? Because Resonic is using DirectSound as of now which should not have any issues with ASIO at all and this sounds like Reaper is claiming exclusive access to the sound driver while Resonic loses it.

I am using a proper Asio driver.
(However, it's a new Mackie soundcard that i got a couple of months ago, and i don't find it very reliable)

OK, looks like it was a false alarm with the crashing. I rebooted my computer, and the game and Resonic are both running flawlessly. Appears that it was a network connection overload caused by one of my torrenting programs that was causing the system instability.
